NYC Food Guide

Being a foodie, one of the many things that I love about living in New York is the vast amount of delicious restaurants on every block! Read below if you’re looking to add to your “MUST go” list!

Sushi is my all time favorite food. If you love sushi, go to Sugarfish. I kid you not- this is by far the best sushi restaurant that I’ve been to. There are three pre-set menus and a la carte options. Sugarfish is known for their pre-set menus. I usually get the “Trust Me” which consists of edamame, sashimi, 6 pieces of sushi, and 2 hand rolls! They serve your food individually or in pairs so you can really taste every flavor (and not just inhale it - like I usually do with food). The fish is so fresh… It melts in your mouth. Need I say more?

Not only is this restaurant insta/snapchat worthy, but it is amazing. Yes. This is the famous scraped cheese that you probably have seen all over your Facebook newsfeed. You can choose the accompaniments (potatoes, bread, and meats) that your cheese is scraped on. Get your phones and your tastebuds ready!

Chip NYC:

This is my go to dessert fix. There are only two locations - in Queens or in Chelsea at the Gansevoort Market. Chip has perfected the balance of a hard surface but gooey middle that a cookie should have. They offer 4 flavors that they rotate every day. My absolute favorite is the Nutella Sea Salt. Just Amazing.

Chik’n Cone

Fried Chicken in a waffle cone. Enough said.

Best Bagel & Coffee:

The name says it all. You gotta have a go to NY Bagel place and this is mine. I get an everything bagel with cream cheese, lox, and capers. Perfection.

DeKalb Market Hall:

If you and your friends are looking for a place to get some grub but not really sure what you guys are feeling - DeKalb is the place. Not only does it have good food, but they have a restaurant for every taste bud! My go to places here are:

  • Wilma’s Fried Chicken: Their fried chicken sandwich is heaven.
  • Bunsmith: Get their Spicy Korean Fried Chicken Bun. You won’t regret it.
